One possible approach to examining contemporary dance theatre is through the lens of dramaturgy. What are the structural elements that can shape a choreography? Is there a difference between traditional theatrical dramaturgy and dance dramaturgy?
Flóra Molnár’s presentation explores the impact of the concept of new dramaturgy, as developed by Marianne Van Kerkhoven, on contemporary dance theatre. This influence is illustrated through the work of the world-renowned Belgian choreographer, Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker, highlighting how movement, music, and space are interwoven in her creations.
𝑭𝑹𝑨𝑮𝑴𝑨𝑵𝑻𝑺 | Solos and Duos from FrenÁk Company
The evening is an unadulterated and concentrated FrenÁk tableau, alternating iconic solo and duo performances by Kossuth Prize-winning choreographer Pál Frenák. In a new composition created for the occasion, Frenák evokes the essential elements, messages and peculiar movement forms of his 40 years of work. He arranges his visionary images of the past, present and future in individual sequences, which together create a new world. The colourful, huge costumes and the human bodies form a painting-like composition on stage.
PERFORMING Léna Árvay-Vass, Viktor Banka, Gergely Cserháti, Vivian Ferencz, Eoin Mac Donncha, Gergely Nyári
